What is Metabolic Surgery?

Metabolic surgery can be briefly defined as surgical treatment aimed at correcting metabolic syndrome. As a result of genetic and environmental factors, an increase in fat tissue in the abdomen and abdominal wall results in an increase in belly circumference. In metabolic syndrome, this lubrication is accompanied by an increase in triglycerides from blood cholesterol, a decrease in good cholesterol, and high blood pressure and sugar. This situation increases the risks of type 2 diabetes, occlusion of the heart vessels, fatty liver, polycystic verse syndrome, sleep apnea syndrome, gallstones, gastroesophageal reflux, depression and asthma, which can cause menstrual irregularity and body hair in women. With the applications in metabolic surgery, sugar, fat and protein metabolism are regulated and these diseases are brought under control.​
