  PROTEINS

You should get 60-80 grams of protein each day during the solid period and for the next 2 years. Since it is not possible to complete this measure with the shrinking stomach volume, your first choice at every meal should always be foods that are a source of protein. By calculating the amount of protein you get from foods according to the amounts written below , you can provide the missing amount from supplemental proteins if needed. Detailed protein calculation is at the end of the lists.

As a result of a diet deficient in protein:

Muscle loss:Instead of body fat tissue, they use muscle tissue as an energy source and you lose muscle.

Hair loss: Foods that are sources of protein are rich in omega oils and vitamins. In insufficient protein; hair loss, nail breakage and even minor bumps can cause damage.

Weakness:Fatigue is seen due to decreased muscle tissue and slowing metabolic rate.

Late feeling of fullness:Compared to other food groups, when the proteins that are emptied late from the stomach are taken insufficiently, it causes a feeling of hunger immediately after eating.

Edema:Since water and muscle loss will occur, the body tends to water retention and accumulates payments.

Disorder in weight balance: When insufficient protein is taken, muscle and water loss will occur instead of adipose tissue; When you drink even water, the body wants to store it, and this can be reflected on the scale as weight gain.

Hormone and enzyme system disorders:When the proteins, which are our basic building blocks, are taken insufficiently, enzymatic events are slowed down or disrupted. Our digestive, absorption, excretory and nervous systems do not perform adequately. Easy mood swings, constipation or diarrhea, bowel sounds are examples.

IF YOU WANT THE LOSS WON'T COME BACK;You should not leave the control of the dietitian, you may have a wrong order that you know is right. The surgery you have had should be a milestone for you, and after that, you should acquire a healthy and correct eating habit with the help of a specialist.

PROTEIN CALCULATION

THE AMOUNT OF PROTEIN CONTAINED IN FOODS ARE BELOW.

👉1 glass of broth/chicken stock soup (200 mL): 2.5 g protein

👉1 cup of milk (200 mL): 6 grams of protein

👉1 cup of yogurt (200 mL): 6 grams of protein

👉 1 cup of buttermilk (200 mL): 3 g of protein

👉1 egg: 6 grams of protein

👉1 slice of cheese (30 grams): 6 grams of protein

👉1 meatball-sized meat (30 grams): 6 grams of protein

👉 1 meatball-sized chicken (30 grams): 6 grams of protein

👉1 meatball-sized fish (30 grams): 6 grams of protein

👉4 tablespoons of legumes (30 grams): 6 grams of protein

  • THE AMOUNT OF PROTEIN THAT PATIENTS WITH OBESITY SURGERY SHOULD GET PER DAY IS 60 GRAMS DAILY.

  • As it seems, it is not possible to complete 60 grams with your tiny stomach volume, especially in the first period. Forcing yourself to supplement from food can also wreak havoc on your stomach.

IN THE LIQUID PERIOD:

For example;

3 glasses of broth in main meals - 3 x 2.5 = 7.5 g protein

3 glasses of milk-yogurt snacks- 3 x 6 = 18 g protein

➕TOTAL: 26 GR OF PROTEIN

60-26 = 34 grams of protein is missing.

When you drink an extra glass of milk, you get 6 more grams of protein.

IN THE PUREE PERIOD:

Since eggs, minced meat and cheese will be released gradually, the need for protein powder will decrease.

For example:

1 egg and 1 slice of cheese for breakfast: 6+6 = 12 g protein

Meat equal to 1 meatball in total at noon and evening = 6 g of protein

A total of 3 glasses of milk-yogurt in between = 18 g protein

➕ we get a TOTAL 36 g of protein from food.

IN SOLID PERIOD:

For example;

1 egg and 1 slice of cheese for breakfast: 6+6 = 12 g protein

3 meatballs in total at noon and evening = 18 g protein

A total of 3 glasses of milk-yogurt in between = 18 g protein

➕ we get a TOTAL 48 gr protein from food.

✔60-48 = 12 gr is needed.
